Celebrating their silver wedding anniversary are George and Olive Corbett of 6 Centennial Crescent. Married during the war, in George's Air Force days, at St. Pat's in Palmerston NOrth, the couple are also pictured (left) as they were on their wedding day. (K.K.K)

A recent celebrant of her 80th birthday was Mrs May Nicoll, Whitaker Street. With plenty of help to cut her cake she is shown here with her five sons, Ian (Auckland), Bob (Gisborne), Gerald (Hawkes Bay), Keith (Palmerston North), and Harry (Whakatane). (K.K.K.)

Two 85th birthday celebrants of the Turanga croquet club were honoured on those anniversaries by fellow members of the club when they were presented with flowers and gifts to mark the occasion. To be still participating in any kind of sport at that age is a wonderful achievement and these two sprightly players are seen with fellow members after the presentations. The guests of honour are Mrs Minnie Campbell and Mrs Flora Wells, and other club members are George Piesse, Mrs Dot Moss, Bill Thompson, Mesdames Beatrice Lloyd, Trix Saxby, Kitty Campbell, Nancy Thompson, Leah Norman, Miss Win Tonkin, Mesdames Annie Donnelly, Ethel Burch, and Messrs Charles Lloyd and Harry Holschire.
