Where are They Now?

....Earle Otway is in Rotorua with the State Fire Insurance office where he transferred from Gisborne six years ago.

Son of Mr and Mrs Ted Otway, 18 Marian Drive, he was educated at the Boys' High, and was an enthusiastic member of the Gisborne Yacht Club. He has continued his interest in yachting in Rotorua and this year set a precedent by winning four major Idle-along titles, including the N.Z. championship, the Moffat Cup, which was held in Timaru. His victory was all the more notable as he and his wife, a former Miss Gifford, of Te Puke, were honeymooning in the South Island at the time. The other titles he won were the North Island Fresh Water Championship at Rotorua, and the Tauranga and Auckland championships.

He is pictured at right, with Kevin Timms as crew, sailing before a brisk wind on Poverty Bay.

....Alex (Sandy) Watt is in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, where he is assistant manager of the Riversdale Olympic swimming pool, and has played roles in two documentary films about water safety. Son of Mr and Mrs D. Watt, 351 Clifford Street, he is a former member of the Waikanae Surf Life Saving Club. He left Gisborne last March on a working tour which will take him through Canada, including a visit to Expo, the World Fair at Montreal, to New York, and then to Great Brittin, to visit his birth place and relatives at Arbroath, Scotland.

....Barry Tuck is in London on a working holiday. Son of Mr and Mrs Doug Tuck, formerly of Tolaga Bay, and now of Kaiwaka, Barry was educated and employed in Gisborne before going abroad. A former H.A.O.B. Junior player, he has joined the London N.Z. Rugby Football Club, and this year became the first recipient of its "Player of the Year" award. The trophy, in the form of a Kiwi, was given by Shaw Savill Ltd, and is presented annually to the player who contributes most, both on and off the field, to the club. He is pictured receiving the trophy at the club's annual dinner from the N.Z. High Commissioner, Sir Thomas MacDonald. Barry recently announced his engagement to a New South Wales girl, and will leave England early next year to be married in Australia.
