The annual rugby clash between the Gisborne and Whakatu Freezing Works teams took place at Barry Park again this year and resulted in a victory for Gisborne. Two recent graduates from the University of Canterbury are Mr and Mrs John Abrahamson--he an M. E. and she a B.A. Mrs Abrahamson was formerly Marjorie Rice, the younger daughter of Mr and Mrs R. D. Rice, of Matawhero.

Mrs Eileen Sharp, 16 Townley Street, was the lucky winner of $100.00 in Openshaw's Easy Cash competition held recently. Mrs Sharp is most happy to receive the crisp new note from Mr Jack Openshaw.

Off on transfer to Waiouru to a senior appointment is W/O Matt Edwards and family, 16 Taruheru Crescent. Chief instructor for sub area 7B, concentrating on schools, Matt goes to Waiouru as S. S. M. to 1 Armoured Squadron Q/A. With Matt and Mrs Edwards are John, Suzanne, Margaret and Matthew in front.
