White Wilderness

Another Gisborne man who has been sampling life in the south polar regions is Warwick Orchiston, 24, son of Mr and Mrs R. Orchiston, Hexton.

Working as a field assistant at Scott Base, Warwick also has charge of the dog teams.

Prior to this, Warwick was farm manager for twelve months at Raoul Island and was there during the volcanic eruptions.

A special anniversary mail on January 10 was sent out from Scott Base being sledded to McMurdo Sound then flown to New Zealand for further distribution.
