Around And About

Attending school at the Central Hawkes Bay College, Nan and new New Zealand "sister" Alison Bennet stayed with Marion Bibby, 7 de Costa Avenue, and also spent a few days attending the Girls High School.

At back are Geordie Thorpe (at whome home the party was held), Nan Corporon, Alison Bennet, Elizabeth Burdett, Patricia Hall, Marion Bibby, Richard Cameron, Graham Parker and, in front, Marshall Hudson, Barry Watt, Graham Sutcliffe, Jamie Ogilvie and Rodger King.

The Turanganui Tennis Club championships were held recently and a feature of the events was the clean sweep made by these four players.
From left: Bill Roberts (winner in men's doubles. runner-up men's single and combined doubles), Jill Roberts (winner ladies' singles and doubles and runner-up in combined doubles), Jeanette Robb (winner ladies' and combined doubles and runner-up ladies singles) and Stuart Robb (winner singles doubles and combined doubles). A fine effort.

A happy party was a feature of the visit of Nan Corporon, an American Field Scholar from Oklahoma, to Gisborne over the Easter period.
