Colourful Show

The R.S.A. Hall was full of colour when the Poverty Bay Horticultural Society staged its annual Rose and Iris Show.

The standard of entries was high, as usual, supporting the fact that Gisborne is a garden-minded community.

A little overwhelmed by her success is Mrs F. J. Newman who is shown with her magnificent bloom of Peace, which took both premier and champion bloom of the show. The trophy is the Wohnsiedler cup which is won by the champion bloom.

Mrs R. B. Jones and Miss M. Hawkins admire the three premier irises.
