Tina is an opossum-hunting Alsatian belonging to the caretaker at Wenderholm Reserve, near Waiwera, on Auckland's east coast.

Her inseparable companion these days is Cassius, a baby opossum (called Cassius because his mouth is always open).

A few months ago, on one of her hunting expeditions in the reserve, Tina caught and killed the mother of Cassius. But she didn't harm the baby.

Now they are the best of friends, as these pictures show. Cassius even rides on Tina's back!
