Nurses' Graduation

Five nurses received their medals and prizes at the graduation ceremony held at the Cook Hospital recently.

Speakers at the well-attended function were Mr J. B. Williams (chairman of the board), Mr T. Lawrie (medical superintendent), and the matron, Miss Y. J. Sinclair, while an address was given by Miss G. E. Clifford-Jones, a Department of Health Nurse Inspector.

Pictured together are Mr and Mrs T. C. Foss (left) and Mary Foss with Mr P. J. Betteridge (hospital secretary), and Miss Clifford-Jones. Mrs Foss, Miss Clifford-Jones and Mr Betteridge all worked together in the Palmerston North hospital early in their careers.
