Brian and Judith Eastham, son and daughter of Mr and Mrs W. S. Eastham, 507 Childers Road, have really been seeing the world. Out of the five years she has been overseas, Judith has spent the last two teaching at a language school in Paris. Brian, a pharmacist, is working in London. Recently they did a hitch-hiking tour through the Middle East and Greece. Seen at above left are Brian and Judith with their Arab hostesses in Aman, Jordan, and above right, Judith holds some Easter chickens in the home of an Armenian family in Aleppo, Syria.

And talking of animals, Shane and Michele Mason, son and daughter of Mr and Mrs Jim Mason, 398 Childers Road, are very proud of the family fox terrier, "Pal", who has not long delivered eight pups. This brings her progeny in the last eighteen months to 22.

Mr Brian Leach of the Station Street store had this rather large spider pop out of a case of Ecuadorian bananas recently. The story now is whether it came from Ecuador or joined the ship along the way. The spider is to go to the Department of Agriculture's laboratory in Levin for identification.
