At a small ceremony at the Scout Hall, Carnarvon Street, the Gilwell scarf and beads were presented to Mrs L. Rogers, who is master of the Wainui Cubs, by Miss M. McCallion, who is District Cubmaster for the East Coast.

At the same function Mrs D. Preddey, District Cubmaster for the Gisborne Area, made a presentation to Miss J. Crosby, Cubmaster of the Takitimu pack who is leaving the city.

The winner of the Baby Contest conducted by Christies Ltd. recently was Paul Holden, son of Mr and Mrs C. Holden. Judged by popular vote the winner received a portable television set. Proceeds were in aid of Plunket whose funds were raised by an additional £700 from the event. From left to right are Mrs J. G. Francis, Plunket President, Mrs Holden and Paul, and Mr C. Swan, Christies representative.
