New Air Service Inaugurated

A three times a week D.C.3 Skyliner air service from Gisborne to Hamilton and return was inaugurated by N.A.C. with a flight containing a party of official guests, the general manager of N.A.C., Mr D. A. Patterson, and representatives of local news organisations.

The flight, of 70 minutes' duration, carried its passengers over the lake district of Rotorua before touching down at Hamilton's modern airport, dominated by an impressive £90,000 terminal building.

On arrival, the guests were greeted by Hamilton dignitaries, including the Mayor, Dr D. Rogers, and member for the district, Mr L. Adams-Schneider.
