"Make And Model" Dressmaking Contest

Forty-one women paraded their entries in the Gisborne section of Simplicity Pattern's "Make and Model" dressmaking competition, which was staged in Adair's showroom this month.

Winner of the contest was Mrs E. Barns-Graham, of Ruatoria, who won a sewing machine donated by Adairs. She will now take part in the New Zealand finals, at Christchurch, for a Mini Minor car.

Judging the local finalists were Mrs Gwen Gill, who is travelling around the country in connection with the contest, and Mesdames Joan Coates and Maida Knight, both of Gisborne.
