Bowie Cup Basketball

For the first time, the Bowie Cup, trophie at stake in the annual Queen's Birthday outdoor basketball tournament was won this year by a team from the East Coast, High School Old Girls from Ruatoria.

Over 500 girls took part in the tourney at the Gisborne courts, and some good play was seen in spite of the inclement weather.

Below them are the Gisborne H.S.O.G. team which contested the final. Betty Toye, Pam Fry, Merle Smith, Charmaine Swann, Jean Nigro, Heather Clews, Jacky Felton, Val whyte, Sally Scott.
