Rugged Race

The annual Creswell Cup harrier race, which drew a good entry of runners this year, is perhaps the most rugged race in the district.

Starting and finishing on the road at the swing-bridge at Longbush, upper Riverside Road, the race follows a course up a high peak on the right of the road, back down again, up another peak of equal height, and back to the road again.

Winner of the race was Dave Hughes, who has been consistently up front for several years.

The race is organised by the Gisborne Canoe and Tramping Club.
