The Reverend Arnold Chalmers (left), son of Mr and Mrs R. H. D. Chalmers, 5 Ballance Street, pictured with the Archbishop of New Zealand, Dr N. A. Lesser, following his ordination to the priesthood at the Church of St. John the Baptist, in Dannevirke. Rev. Chalmers' ordination was the first to be held in Dannevirke.

Mr Michael Egan, third son of Mr and Mrs J. H. R. Egan, 15 Hinaki Street, who has graduated from the University of Canterbury as a Bachelor of Engineering.

The Gisborne R. S. A. indoor bowling team which took third place in the fours event at the North Island Championships in Gisborne at Queen's Birthday weekend, pictured receiving their prizes. The team was something of a family affair, with skip, Mr Don Schollum, three, Mrs Betty Schollum, and lead, Denis Schollum. The two player was Mrs J. Brooking. At 15 years of age, Denis is the youngest player in the country to have reached the semi-finals of a New Zealand championship tournament.
