Bobby Locke at Gisborne
One of the largest galleries ever seen on a golf coarse in Gisborne turned out recently to see the world champion golfer, Bobby Locke, give a demonstration and play a round with the local professional, Ed Fennell. The result was a win for the visitor, five and four.
Enthusiasm of crowd may be judged from this photograph taken after the players (marked by arrow) had driven off from first tee.
Locke giving a demonstration before the game started. He placed emphasis on accuracy rather than length, and every word and stroke were carefully followed by gallery.
On the club house steps, the visitor is seep with the club president, Mr R. W. J. Edwards, and Mr G. M. Chrisp, his host here on an earlier visit.
