Readers' Pictures
Animals appear to be the favourite subjects for our readers' cameras last month, so, for this issue, we assembled them together to present a page of animal oddities.
From Mr J. H. Dobbie, Redmond Street, is this picture of his cat "Lucky" enjoying: a quiet nap on the comfortable back of Basil the ram, an eleven year-old, whose longevity is credited to a diet of sheep pellets and maize.
Mrs E. Olsen, 240 Stout Street, sent in this snap of her grand-daughter, Debbie Johns, riding a pig on her first visit to a farm.
An unposed picture of a spring lamb feeding from Sheba, a German Shepherd bitch, sent in by Mrs A. McKinley, of Awapuni Road.
A former Gisborne resident, who prefers to remain anonymous, sent us this picture of a sea-elephant at Akitio Beach, Wairarapa, which is thought to be "Sabrina", who frequented Gisborne waters several years ago, because of a similar scar on its back.
One or our own pictures, of Susie, a three-legged pet lamb born at Tahunga and residing temporarily at Mr Don Gooch's home, Mary Street.
