Harrier Rally

The New Zealand marathon champion, Jeff Julian, of Auckland, easily won the senior race at the Gisborne Harrier Club's annual rally last month.

Julian, who completed the 8.8-mile course in a record time of 41 min. 36 sec., avergeed an incredible 4 min. 37 sec. per mile to outclass the rest of the field easily.

In the junior event, Gisborne runners had a very successful race, taking the major placings and winning the teams' competition.

After finishing, Julian looks fresh and relaxed as he moves back along the course to meet the other competitors.
