Boys' Brigade Relay
The Brigade's 80th anniversary was celebrated with a marathon relay starting at four of the Dominion's extremities. The runners carried a scroll in a silver baton with a message for the Governor General.

Clearly marked cars travelled a few yards before and after the boys. The Gisborne Battalion's section of the 350 mile run finished at Kotemaori, 100 miles distant.
