Surfers' Pentathlon
The Gisborne Surf Lifesaving Association's annual pentathlon competition attracted a large crowd of spectators to Roberts Road beach on a recent sunny Sunday afternoon.
Twelve surfers, two seniors and two. Juniors from the three local clubs, competed in the five events, a beltman's race, surf race, surf ski race, beach sprint, and resuscitation exercises, for the two trophies, the Kaiti Rose Bowl (seniors) and the Lamont Memorial Shield (juniors).
