Two Nelson women have successfully grown pineapple trees by planting fruit tops and both have borne fruit. At left is Mrs W. R. Luff, 13 Maitland Avenue, Stoke, and at right is the tree of Mrs J.W. Wareing, 16 Martin Street, Monaco.

This 121b 10oz brown trout caught by Alan Whitehead, Maruia, has won the acclimatisation society's prize for heaviest fish caught this year.

This lovely car, a hard-top Volkswagon Karmann-Gia, was handed over to Nelson owner, Mrs J. L. Bannister, last month. It is only one of its kind in Nelson.

This old gravestone in the back yard of Miss Grace Day, 45 She1bourne Street, is last reminder that land in this area was once a Catholic cemetery. It was erected to the memory of Thomas Sullivan, who died in December, 1865.
