A Wreck and a new Addition

Kirbys featured In the news recently when a truck driven by Ray Gilbert left the road in the Lee Valley, Brightwater, and crashed down the hill into a creek. How Ray got out alive and unhurt remains a mystery, for the cab roof was crushed almost flat. The spare tyre, projecting above the cab roof, is believed to have saved Ray's life. A truck lost, but another one on the road. This new furniture van is the latest addition to ICirby's fleet. At left, as a comparison, is a van put on the road in 1938.
