Great Cricket

Rain certainly has played a big part in Central Districts' performance this season. It cost Central a probable outright win over Northern Districts, and disrupted its first innings against Auckland. Then, in Nelson, with the prospect of an outright win in view over the Otago side, rain washed out the last day's play at a time when Otago was following-on.

But a good game for all that, with the features being the double century of Bevan Congdon, and the 110 of M. Ryan. The facts: Central ade 448 for 3 declared (Congdon 202 not out); Otago, 280 and 1 for none.
