A final wave from these obviously very happy children as they prepare to board buses for a weekend camping at Pohara Beach. The children are Form 1 and 2 pupils of St. Joseph's Convent. The trip, an educational and recreational one, was organised by Father P. P. Cahill. Nearly 100 children made the trip.

Getting from their home at Kina Beach to school at Tasman, and return, is a lot of fun for Philip and Mark Pauchelle and wee Suzie Tait. They're very fortunate to have a 1 p.p. (pony power) cart to carry them the 1¾ miles to and from school. The power unit is little Polly. She pulls a small cart built by Mr Fauchelle. It's even equipped with a handbrake (as demonstrated by Mark on the right).
