The Waimea Co-op Dairy Company's new 2300 gal bulk tanker was making its first collection round when this pic was taken at Upper Moutere. This year 38 suppliers to the factory are going on to bulk milk supply and the factory's production of milk powder will be greatly increased. In the picture are the two drivers, Paul Lines and Ian Evans, and suppliers, John and Carl Heine.

Mrs A. G. Tomlinson, of Marahau, won the $87 typewriter in the background when she composed the best "Win An Olivetti Typewriter Contest" sentence conducted by Armstrong and Springhall, Nelson. Congratulating her is Mr Bruce Fenemor, manager of the firm.

The first step in the provision of Nelson's new sewerage scheme was taken recently when work commenced on the building of an embankment opposite Todd's Valley to the boulder bank. This embankment, which will be formed into a road, will contain the outfall pipe to and through the boulder bank.
