Murchison News

The 149th New Zealand Jaycee chapter was formed in Murchison recently. Newly elected board members are, back: Graeme Joblin, John Kelling, Allan Kneale, Adrian Stevens, Ian McAlpine and Michael Daubney. Front: Aub Watson, Jack Hall (vice-president), Bruce McGowan (president), Graeme Bradley (vice-president) and Lloyd Anderson.
Mr and Mrs George Brown (front) celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary recently. With them are foster daughter Thelma Skillen (front left), youngest daughter Mrs R. O'Rourke, son-in-law Robert, and Thelma's sister Margaret. Among the guests (above) were Ron Watson, Jean McWha, Adeline Robinson, Dorothy Watson and babe and Dave McWha.
Murchison was blanketed in snow recently when most of the province was locked in winter's icy grip. Here, Carol James discovers that windscreen wipers have limited capabilities.
Yippie, snow, is obviously the thought of Gloria Grooby and Nova Hodgkinson, as they prepare to face the elements (snowballs, as well, probably).
