One of the most popular pastimes for youngsters during the May holidays was fishing from the wharves. Some of the children had a rather lean time, but others were with it. A couple found that there are usually a few unwanted fish lying in the scuppers of fishing trawlers and they were quick to take advantage of the skipper's generosity. At left, our youthful fisherman is about to land a good sized fish.
