Stoke Presbyterians will soon have a new church in which to worship. The new building is rising beside the hall which has been used for services for several years now. Some idea of the construction can be gained from the high steel arches already erected.

That well-known television character, Magilla Gorilla, if confronted by the sight of this huge truck on another huge truck, would undoubtedly say: "Nothing like having a spare". This is, however, not an uncommon sight in Nelson today as trucks transport to the railhead at Blenheim and Picton the huge Leyland trucks assembled at Annesbrook.
