Arthur Roberts is a driver. He's been a driver for 30 years and for 18 years with Fuel and Freight, Motueka. He lives in Motueka where he pursues his leisure time interests of angling, following Rugby, and growing dahlias. He's married with two children and is a grandfather.

In tne Apple and Pear Board inspection depot, we chanced upon Bob Miller and Norm Ii-Lingworth, inspectors with the Department of Agriculture. Bob is married, with four boys and a girl, and has been living here since 1949. He's been with the department six years. Bob likes his bowls and fishing, but gets most interest from watching children's sports. Norm hasr two boys, and came to Nelson from Geraldine five years ago. He's a keen home gardener, a member of the Stoke Home and School Association and a committee member of the Nayland Scout group. He's keen on Rugby also.

Co-proprietor of a grocery in Milton Street is Eileen Lawrence. Eileen is married with a boy and girl. She and husband Sid came from Wellington seven years ago. Her hobbies? Looking after grandchild and working.

The man with the big smile is Reg Goodwin, an electrician with George Higgins Ltd, Hardy Street. Reg has lived in Nelson all his life, he's married with a boy and girl, and is a keen caravanner, fisherman and swimmer.

Behind the snack bar in the Hotel Nelson we came upon Judy Dury and Dianne Moore. Judy is an Australian, from Queensland, and is on a working holiday in New Zealand. She's been in Nelson nearly 3 months now. Swimming, surfing and sun bathing are among her chief pursuits. Dianne, 18 years old, came to Nelson from New Plymouth eight years ago. She was educated at the girls' college and last year was leader of the Glengowan marching team. She also likes to lap up the sunshine on the beach.
