Motor Racing at Tahuna

The Nelson Car Club's Queen's Birthday beach-racing meeting on the Tahunanui circuit attracted good entries and a reasonably big crowd. Principal event on the programme, the South Island beach championship, was won by Ron Rutherford in his R. A. Zephyr. Ron won the national beach title at Nelson at the club's Christmas meeting. Duncan Rutherford (Lycoming Special) was second and W. Dorrell (ACF III) was third. All major prize-winners were from Canterbury.
