Roving Camera
This 1961 scene, of a stock sale at Tapawera, is one which has remained virtually unchanged for many years. A stock sale offers the farming community much more than the opportunity to buy and sell livestock. It is a commom meeting place where valuable information is exchanged and friendships renewed.
A start has been made on the erection of new 61 × 41 rooms for Nelson Garrison Band. When completed will be valued at over £5000. The building will replace present rooms which were built by the band 60 years ago and are now too small to hold band's 50-odd active members. They may be ready for use in three months.
