Miss Nelson Chosen

The annual charity ball run by Nelson Round Table drew a good crowd and eight entrants in the "Miss Nelson 1968" contest. Winner of this year's event was 17-year-old Robyn Appleby, a petrol attendant at Nelson Motors. Robyn will represent Nelson at the national contest run by Joe Brown and we wish her every success. Second placegetter was Patricia Collins, of Nelson, and third was Maria Mann, of Motueka. At top left, Robyn is flanked by Maria, on the left, and Patricia, right. Above, a very excited Robyn has something to smile about, Enjoying the ball (left) were Dave Woolford, Lynn Makey, Jan McKnight and Rick Aston. Judging panel, John Wheeler, A. M. Miller, Shirley Horrocks, Betty North-cott and G. S. C. Ferguson, take time out for a smile for us (bottom).
