Christmas and the Children

Most people get a lift from Christmas, but if there is one time of the year which belongs almost exclusively to the children, then it is Christmas. The old fellow in the red coat and the white whiskers is king and for a short period he has hundreds of thousands of adoring subjects. And he takes time off before his busy rounds to celebrate with the children, and this is where we found him during some of the pre-Christmas parties.

Ready for home with their loot after the Christmas party of the Stoke Plunket Mothers' Club are the children and the mums, Coral Hart, Nancy Canning, Hilary Upton, Margaret Newton, Gwen Steer, Phyllis Brown, Barbara Wadsworth, Shirley Baken, Helen Le Cren, Lorraine Bolderston, all members of the committee.

Lots of children were on hand to welcome Santa to the Christmas party of Motor Assemblies at the Stoke Hall

Out at Sunnybank Boys' Home, Terry Kiley and Nehu Brunning try out two pogo sticks.

At Sunnybank, the boys were entertained royally by members of the R. N. Z. A. F. station, Woodbourne, and the smiles are surely proof of the success they achieved.
