Unwelcome Visitors
In any man's language, this is a "whopper" shark. This 10ft brute along with a 6ft shark, was netted by fishermen Bevan Harvey and Bill Rzoska in the Blind Channel, not long before Christmas. They were towed to the wharf of Nelson Fisheries and killed there. Quite a number of sharks were sighted near the beach during the holidays. The teeth were not very big, but they were razor sharp (inset).
