Intermediate School Presents "Oliver"

The cast of "Oliver", this year's drama presentation by the Nelson Intermediate School, played to packed houses on two nights. We took these pix of what the programme described as a very free adaptation of the musical story of Oliver Twist" at final rehearsal, and it was quite obvious to us that both the cast, and the producer, Mr K. Hawksworth, had put their hearts and souls into it. The choruses were rousing and sung with verve; and the acting, in most instances, spontaneous and confident. A great big congratulation to all concerned.

Mr Bumble (Denise Aydon) is told by the Widow Corney (Suzanne Homan) that she' ll scream, but she didn' t seem to get round to it.

Poor Oliver (Sharman Williams) is inspected by Mrs Sowerberry (Merle Henderson) and Noah, the apprentice (David Grant), after he had been sold to Sowerberry, the undertaker.
