The most eye-catching feature of the overseas vessel, Nederlinge, which called at Nelson last month, was the heavy-lift derrick (jumbo) equipment. This massive derrick can be manoeuvred to operate over hatches fore or aft of it. When not in use it can be hoisted upright by means of the series of cables at the top.

The giant oil-circuit breakers which are being installed at the Nrw Zealand Electricity Department's new sub-station at Stoke provided quite a transportation problem from Port Nelson to Stoke. The tall tanks had little clearance under power and telephone wires and the trip with each was a slow and cautious one.
