A sign of the times? This used car sales lot in Halifax Street was abandoned by its proprietor last month. A few yards along the road, another used car site, which has been used by several firms, is now being used by one firm to park a few vehicles.

An aerial visitor to Nelson last month was this DC3 which topdressed hill land out Brightwater way in double quick time. A feature of its work was the speed in turn-round. This was achieved by the huge motorised hopper and conveyor belt used to load the aircraft.
