Heading for the bright lights of Auckland are Constable John and Valerie Madsen, and their family, Jacqueline, Patrick, baby Paul, Burnetta and Nicola. John and Valerie came to Nelson from Blenheim seven years ago. He has been accepted for the C.I.B. in Auckland.

Corporal Colin Hargreaves and his wife, Helen, are off to Waiouru (then to Burnham), and then to Malaya). Colin was born in Nelson and this is his 16th shift.

Enjoying Nelson's sunshine are new arrivals from Dunedin, Sid and Betty Fisher and family Grant and Mark. Sid is overseer at the Post Office mechanical workshops in Nelson.

A loss to Nelson's sporting life is the transfer of Ted Ercolano to Hamilton, where he will take up the appointment of staffing officer to the South Auckland Education Board. Ted has represented Nelson at cricket and Rugby and is no slug with a golf club. Sharing Ted's smile are wife Kay, baby Christopher and Clayton.

Te Awamutu-bound are Jim and Margaret Hurst and family, Trevor, Barrie and Jocelyn. Jim has forsaken a dairy business in Nelson to take up a position with the Tokonui Hospital, Te Awamutu.
