Flower Girls Active in City

The Nelson Plunket Society hit on a novel way to raise some finance this year. Twenty-four of its members dressed in the Liza Doolittle era, stationed themselves in key positions in the city area and sold flowers to passers-by. A tremendous amount of effort must have gone into the organising of this project. Some flowers were sold loose, but others were in buttonholes, posies, baskets and sheaths. The Plunket Rooms, headquarters for the day, were full of flowers and workers when we called (above).
