A Winter Launching

Five years ago Keith Winter began work at his home in Mount Pleasant Avenue on a new 28ft motor sailer. Last month the boat, appropriately named "Makariri" ("Winter" in Maori) was launched at McGlashen Quay in the wintriest of weather. The sailer, which has a 9ft beam, is a sister boat to that owned by Mr Pat Win, and is of American design (H28). There is still a bit of work to do on her, but Keith hopes to have it completed by the end of this year.
