Comings and Goings

Dorothy Christie had a big thrill last month when her sister, Myra, and brother-in-law, Don Green, from Los Angeles, "popped in". Myra and Don were on a tour of Australia and New Zealand. We got this group of the reunion, showing Myra, Don and Dorothy in front and Dorothy's children, Eric, Norman, Keith and Jim, behind.

Off to Australia on a working holiday is Sue Win. Sue, a qualified maternity nurse, completed her training in Hastings and is keen to have a look at the Northern Territory.

Arrived in Nelson not long after returning from Singapore are Sergeant Lin Shailes, his wife Lorraine, and children Lesley, Leonard and Lynnette. Lin is the chief clerk for Area 9, Southern Military District.

Also off to Aussie are three likely lads, Reg Nicholson, Kerry Mackenzie and Jim Greig. The boys worked as mechanics with Ashtons' circus during its New Zealand tour and were invited to remain with the circus during its Australian tour.

Washington D. C. will be the home of the Minton family for the next few years at least. Mr Arthur Minton, the Post Office district engineer, has obtained a post as a tele-communications engineer with the World Bank in the United States. with Mr Minton at the back of this pic, are his wife Claire and son, Bruce, and in front, daughters Helen, Beverley and Robyn.

Another Post Office shift during the month was that of Graeme Wilson, his wife, Margaret, and children Paul and Roger. Graeme, postmaster at Stoke for three years, has been appointed to a similar position at Wellington North post office.

Recent arrivals from Palmerston North are the Blyth family, now living in chamberlain Street. Mr Brett Blyth, and his wife, Daphne, have two children, Patsy and Vicki. Brett is the new owner of Nelson Motors.
