Around the Schools

Book Week

History, in the making and in the past, and all of it in books, is the theme for this year's 'Book Week" activities. Earlier this month schools organised their own displays in their own schools, and during the school holidays a huge display of books, organised by the central committee, in the Suter Art Gallery, will complete this year's activities. We visited some of the schools (Enner Glynn, Stoke, Auckland Point and St. Joseph's) to see their displays, and we reproduce some of them here.

Barbara Gribble, Derek King, Peter Wareing and Ursula Bennetts put the finishing touches to the display in the Stoke school foyer.

The space age was well-covered by most schools, and here at Auckland Point, Dennis Palmer, Kevin Lee, Michael Bourke and Anthony Hull with the rocket they helped to build.

Roma Hippolite also looks at the space age in the poster he's preparing at Enner Glynn School.
