Roving Camera

Every week tons of sausages are consumed throughout New Zealand, but have you ever wondered how the sausage meat gets into the skin and how the actual bunch of five-inch sausages are made? In a butcher shop one day we had a peep behind the scenes and found sausages in the making, so for the benefit of any who have wondered, here's the secret. At top left a skin is fitted on to a nozzle of the filling machine, a handle is turned and out comes the sausage. At top right the sausage length is displayed and at right the sausages are made into bunches by a twist, a turn and a flick of the wrist.
