The Chips Flew at Hope

Axemen from many parts of the South Island and a small representation from the north, competed in the Nelson-Marlborough Axemen's Association's two-day carnival at Hope. Among them were several New Zealand representatives. Four of the six-man New Zealand team recently announced, chopped at the meeting - C. Hocquard, W. Shelford, I. Davidson and A. Rose.
