The Apple Packing Contest

Last year's women's champion took the open apple-packing title when the annual competitions were held at Mapua last month. Miss Lorna Paynter of Tasman beat 55 other packers to win the title. As usual the competitions were held before a capacity crowd in the Mapua Hall. The Brash Cup, for the best two cases of fruit, was won by J. Archibald, who entered two cases of States-man applies.
