Brian and Irene Shepard, with their family, Geoffrey, Richard and Gail, who have settled in Nelson. Brian and Irene ran the boarding house at French Pass until recently. Brian has returned to his old trade of a loose cover specialist. Geoffrey is in Form V at Waimea College, Richard is in Form 11 at Waimea Intermediate and Gail is employed in the office at H. Baigent and Sons.

New licensee at the Central Hotel is Arnie May and his wife, Trix. They have been in the hotel business 15 years and have managed hotels in Blenheim and Christchurch. Both are keen golfers and members of the Greenacres Club. They have two married daughters and a son, who is coming to live in Nelson shortly.

The new professional at the Nelson Golf Club, Mr Keith Foxton, formerly of Christchurch. Keith is wellknown in New Zealand's golfing world and will be a tremendous asset to golf in the Nelson district. He is seen here improving the game of Mrs Olive Field.

June and Nohorua Kotua who recently returned to Nelson after Nohorua completed his service with the regular army. He has been appointed Officer Commanding D Coy, 2nd R. N. Z. I. R., and is now employed in the arts and crafts department of the Education Department in Nelson. He left Nelson in 1958.
