The Summer Scene

When writing the heading for this page, we asked ourselves: "What summer?" Never, according to old Nelsonians, has Nelson had such a shocking holiday period. We've often had bucketsful of rain, but nobody we spoke to can recall the low cloud and rain conditions which persisted day after day for more than three weeks. The only consolation the holiday-makers had,was. that it was much worse in other parts of the country. In these three pages, however, we've tried to capture something of the holiday season - poor as it was
