Boating to Work
One way of getting to work in the morning is by boat, but such a mode of transport does not find favour with many. To some of the staff of Griffin, Hodgson, West and Yates, however, it sounded a jolly good lark, even though the journey was quite a long one, from Cemetery Point to the Trafalgar Street Bridge. An outgoing tide helped the rowers until they reached the outlet of the Maitai River, where some came to a standstill. During the trip one of the rowers, Graham Anderson, dislocated a shoulder when his boat capsized and had to go to hospital. Winner was John West, seen at top left, helping Michael Price and Ivan Rlchardson to beach their dinghy.

The girls had a heavy stowaway, which didn't help matters much, in Mitch, a whopping big Labrador dog, whose only assistance was a bark
