Fish Processing Factory Nearly Ready

The huge fish processing factory of New Zealand Sea Products Export Ltd, on the reclamation, is expected to commence operations by or on December 14. Since this is our last issue of the year and our first issue of 1967 is not until February, we received the permission of the company to reproduce these pictures of parts of the factory already completed. The first of the company's huge trawlers was due here on December 6, and the official opening is set down for December 14.

The factory has a floor area of about 25,000 sq.ft., making it the largest fish processing factory in New Zealand and one of the most modern in the Southern Hemisphere. Special emphasis has been placed on hygiene, and this can be seen in the huge processing room where the walls are all metal lined, and in the washroom facilities for men and women.
