Whitebait Run At Paturau
Paturau is not the easiest place to reach. In fact, to get there you have to drive to the West Coast. But at the end of that long drive (a very beautiful one, to be sure) through Pakawau, West Haven and Mangarakau, is the Paturau River and the very good chance of some good white-baiting. Strangely enough, when we were there, men were in the minority on the riverbank.
